Basement and Cellar Water Damage Drying

Basements and cellars can be difficult to dry because they are below ground, have limited ventilation and may contain dense masonry, concrete and stored contents. Drying will not solve an unresolved waterproofing, drainage or groundwater defect.

My HomeDry assesses the source, contamination, building materials and ventilation before planning extraction and drying.

Source control is essential

Pipe failures, drainage problems and external ingress require different repairs. A continuing defect will undermine any drying programme.

Dense materials and limited airflow

Masonry, concrete and restricted spaces may release moisture slowly. Equipment and monitoring must be planned around access and safe ventilation.

Contents and storage

Cardboard, textiles, timber and stored goods may hold moisture or obstruct airflow. Contents responsibility should be agreed before work starts.
