Water Tank and Loft Leak Drying

A loft tank or upper-level plumbing failure can release water above insulation and ceilings before the incident is discovered. Water may then travel through several rooms or storeys.

My HomeDry assesses insulation, timber, ceilings, walls and lower floors after the source has been isolated. Unsafe ceilings and electrical risks must be dealt with first.

Insulation can hold significant water

Wet insulation may compress, retain water and limit airflow. Retention depends on type, contamination, access and condition.

Timber and roof-space access

Joists, trusses and boarding should be assessed safely. Confined access and electrical services may limit what can be inspected immediately.

Multi-floor migration

Water can follow light fittings, wall cavities, stairs and service routes. The survey should include lower rooms even where staining is limited.
